Known as Finning International Speedway, Edmonto Airport opened as a 1.96 mile circuit based around the airport runways. It signed a three year contract to host a Champ Car round from 2005 onwards in 2004, replacing the event at Vancouver. Its first race opened on the 17th July 2005.
For the 2011 Indycar race a 2.224 mile circuit was used.
