Opened on the 11th March 1962 as a 3.1 km (1.926 mile) circuit (see below left). It was extended to
3.878 km (2.410 miles) in 1984 by the addition of an infield loop (see below right).
After a series of large accidents at the start and at turn 1, the start line was moved back down the straight. The circuit as of 2004 is shown below.
