The circuit started on the Rua Alberto Torres, the track went north to the Avenida Ipiranga (also known as the Avenida G.Vargas), and then south-west to the Praça Princesa Isabel, site of the Catedral São Pedro da Alcântara. The track turned left onto the Rua da Imperatriz, going past the Imperial Museum, and left onto the Rua do Imperador (originally known as the Avenida 15 de Novembro).
