Track History

A hilly circuit, it was originally built in 1972, but needed considerable overhauling for its first GP in 1984.

The track was considered too dangerous, and was modified twice to try and satisfy the demands of F1 before the series left. The track was subsequently modified for the year 2000, with the hope of getting F1 to return. They didn't return for racing, but did return for testing.
