Portoroz


Portoroz (also known as Portorose in English speaking countries), in Slovenia, first hosted a series of F3 races known as the Grand Prix du Littorel in the 1960s - German driver Roman Dirschel driving under the pseudonym Franz Müller was killed on the 27th September 164 when his Lotus-Ford 31 left the road and hit a tree. Then around 1999 Portoroz Airport was used for what was locally called the Petrol Grand Prix, with an F3000 demonstration race on the 9th October 2004.
