Caesars Palace

Constructed in the car-park of the Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, the track was a tortuous 2.268 miles between concrete walls. To bed in the new tarmac, Long Beach promoter Chris Pook used taxi drivers to drive around on it. The track was used for F1 in 1982 and 1983, but was changed to a modified oval format of 1.125 miles for the Indycar races in 1983 and 1984. This track is shown by the light grey areas in the map above.
