Darren Galpin. Who is he?
I am a physicist who has completed a masters degree at Bath University,
having completed A-level studies (for those who are really nosey) in
Geography, Maths, Chemistry and Physics, and an S-level in
Geography. I have since worked for STMicroelectronics and Infineon Technologies
in microchip design/verification.
My main interest is motorsport, and I participate by marshalling events at
Castle Combe and Thruxton. Jaunts further afield are planned. Having driven
Karts and Formula Fords, I vaguely know what I am talking about when
discussing motorsport, although if you don't agree, you can flame away to
your hearts content! The tracks I have been to are:-
- The Raceway, Portishead (formerly Pro-sport Karting)
- Bristol Karting Centre, Brislington
- Buckmore Park
- Granha Viana, Sao Paulo, Brazil
- Hullavington
- Winners Karting, Swindon
- Kartplaza, Nijverdal, Netherlands
- Unterturkheim, Stuttgart, Germany
In addition, on the 21/6/1997 I set a new track record of 42.94s at Hullavington,
but I put this down to it being a new track which most of the fast drivers
haven't visited, rather than me being that good.
