1932 - competition debut in Aosta-St Bernard hill climb. Crashed.
1937 - won Naples GP (Maserati). Italian champion
1938 - Italian champion
1939 - Italian champion
1946 - won GP des Nations at Geneva
1948 - won at Monaco, Geneva, Mar del Plata (independent Maserati)
1949 - in same Maserati, won Lausanne GP, 2nd International Trophy. Won
       Rosario GP (Ferrari)
1950 - 6 GP (Alfa), 30 points, World Champion. 3 wins (GB, Swiss, Italian GP)
1951 - 7 GP (Alfa), 19 points, 4th. 1 win (Belgium)
1952 - 6 GP (Ferrari), 24 points, 2nd. (2nd Belgium,France,Germany,Holland).
       Won non-championship Naples & Monza GPs
1953 - 8 GP (Ferrari), 26 points, 3rd. 1 win (Germany)
1954 - 2 GP (Ferrari), 6 points, J8th. (2nd Argentina). Won non-championship
       Syracuse GP. Crashed in Mille Miglia & at Monza, suffered severe burns
1955 - 4 GP (Ferrari), 9 points, 5th. DNS Italian GP (tyre trouble). 
       Attempted to qualify for Indy 500, crash in practice for Monza
       Suoercortemaggiore race
1956 - Returned to Indy. His car crashed fatally by Keith Andrews. Retired
       for good.
1966 - Killed in road crash
