Son of pre-war driver Kurt Ahrens.

1958 - started racing an F3 Cooper
1961 - German Formula Junior Champion
1962 - suspended for 6 months by ONS for disputing official result
1963 - German Formula Junior Champion
1965 - Raced F3 & F2
1966 - retired from German GP (F2 Brabham BT18 Cosworth)
1967 - retired from German GP (F2 Protos Cosworth)
1968 - 12th in German GP (Brabham BT24 - Repco). European F2: J6th, 2nd
       at Jarama.
1969 - 7th in German GP (F2 Brabham BT30 - Cos)
       Won Austrian GP Sportscar race with Jo Siffert (Porsche 917)
       European F2: 9th, 2nd in Deutschland Trophae.
1970 - Won Nurburgring 1000km for Porsche
1971 - retired
